Acceptable Use Policy
Rules for using Botmanor responsibly — for your workspace, the agents you build, and the providers and channels you connect them to.
Last updated: July 2026
Purpose & Scope
- This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) applies to your workspace, the apps and agents you build, the LLM providers, MCP connections, and channel connectors you configure, and any end user who interacts with your bot apps through a connected channel.
- It supplements our Terms of Service. A violation of this AUP is a violation of the Terms and may result in suspension or termination of your workspace, in addition to any other remedy available to us.
General Prohibited Uses
- You may not use Botmanor for any illegal purpose, or in a way that violates applicable law in your jurisdiction, including data protection, export control, and consumer protection law.
- You may not use Botmanor to generate, store, or distribute child sexual abuse material, content that facilitates violence or terrorism, or content that infringes a third party's intellectual property or publicity rights.
- You may not attempt to gain unauthorized access to another workspace, to our infrastructure, or to any LLM provider, MCP server, or channel platform account you are not authorized to use.
- You may not use the platform to build a bot, app, or service that competes with Botmanor by reselling substantially the same functionality without a separate written agreement with us.
AI Agent & Model-Specific Prohibited Uses
- You may not use an agent, prompt, or knowledge base configuration to attempt to bypass the safety, content, or usage policies of an LLM provider you have connected, or to extract another workspace's system prompts, credentials, or knowledge base contents.
- You may not configure an agent to impersonate a real person or organization without their consent, or to present AI-generated output as human-authored in a way intended to deceive.
- You are responsible for your own compliance with the acceptable-use terms of any LLM provider, channel platform, or MCP server you connect through Botmanor — connecting a provider through us does not waive that provider's own terms.
- AI-generated output can be inaccurate. As stated in our Terms of Service, you are responsible for reviewing and validating agent output before relying on it or presenting it to end users, particularly for consequential decisions.
Channel & Integration Misuse
- You may not use a Slack, Teams, Discord, WhatsApp, web widget, or webhook connector to send unsolicited bulk messages (spam), phishing content, or malware to end users.
- You may not use a channel connector or webhook to circumvent the rate limits, terms of service, or authentication requirements of the underlying platform (for example, mass-messaging beyond what WhatsApp or Slack permits for your account type).
- MCP connections and tool registries must only be pointed at servers and resources you are authorized to access; registering a tool does not grant you rights to the underlying system it fronts.
Resource & Rate-Limit Abuse
- You may not attempt to circumvent workspace execution quotas, token limits, or rate limits, including through automated scripts designed to exhaust another workspace's or the platform's shared capacity.
- You may not use the platform to conduct load testing, security scanning, or penetration testing against Botmanor infrastructure or another workspace without our prior written authorization — see our Security page for how to report a vulnerability responsibly instead.
Enforcement
- We may investigate suspected violations and take proportionate action, including warning you, disabling the specific app, agent, or connector involved, suspending your workspace, or terminating your account for serious or repeated violations.
- Where required by law or by a connected provider's own terms, we may also need to disable a specific LLM provider or channel connection rather than your whole workspace.
- We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before taking action, except where immediate action is necessary to prevent harm, abuse, or legal exposure.
